Peace

peace
so fragile
has escaped me
it spills through my fingers
rampant, no longer contained
it is free running
and it pours
.
.
.
tiny
pyramids
mounding like
molehills at my feet
I tremor at the thought
of the mountains they will bring

then I put a halt to the rushing tide
I create barriers with my breath
and with the soft brush
of my attention
I sweep and
I gather
until
all the
peace is
once again
contained inside.

Wow. I may have to explore your blog during class on Monday. Your poetry is so descriptive! I like the middle stanza very much! xoxo Nith

Very neat how you've likened inner weather with outer housekeeping. I like the thought that all could, at least momentarily, be put in perfect order.

Ah Susannah! I had a recent take on peace, too. We have some ideas in common...
