We project our own shadows onto suitable screens
and rage at the images and cry at the scenes
it's everything I'm not, It's unfair and untrue
whereas the shadow contains the un owned bits of you
To honestly face whats projected outside
and own it as ours, means nothing to hide
we take back our power and then can begin
to realise the truth, the controls are within
We don't see our shadow but others often do
and though hard to face up to, many times it is true
that often we're guilty of the behaviour we hate
our 'unconscious' projected, we take up as bait

So true. I love it.
Glad you like it and thanks very much for your comment.
"the shadow contains the unowned bits of you" hmmmmmm...how true. Also, I would add to "often we're guilty of the behavior we hate" that often we particularly hate it in others because, on some level, we realize that we're guilty of it ourselves. I think that's particularly true with people who are really similar to each other--within families, for instance--who look at each other and can't see anything other than the unacknowledged parts of themselves that they hate....
it is true what you say. It also goes on big time in wars and conflict, each side fighting the 'bad people' out there.
Thanks very much for your comment.
I really like your style. From the truths reflected in this particular piece to the shape of the poem such as in "I swim to the bottom of my psyche". Your free style and imaginative presentation gives echoes of Dickinson and e.e. cummings. Although that's just my opinion after reading a few of your works. Very good.
J.Tabithia, thanks so much for your kind comments, they are much appreciated. Nice to meet you. :-)
