You, who speak of trees
and wild things,
who spills poetry
into each word.
Though you are a stranger,
I feel your every move.
You appear on screen. . .
flickering pixels
hold your words.
All I know of you. . .
letters made into words
into poetry.
You have no body. . .
but your words
contain your soul.
(For a wonderful poet whose writing moves and inspires me.)

Indeed, all poets have but mere words to share their souls.
And online poets are even more temporal than the pen-and-paper variety, for their words are but flickering electrons on our screens, only there until we click away.
A thoughful piece, Susannah. :)
Susannah, I so love these words.........I feel the same way - in reading the soul wisdom of all of you wonderful poets, I grow to know each of you, perhaps more substantially than I "know" some people I meet in real life, whose inner thoughts are hidden. I love this poem.
it freaks me out sometimes... as i read what i have been thinking... almost as if still unformed thoughts in my head find form in your poetry...
it is weird, believe me!
You are one of the people, I do not know, and yet smile when I see a post from. The connections of the mind and the internet are both electronic so no wonder the mind sees the WWW as real.
This is beautifully written and certainly describes an experience of falling in love with a person through their words. I love this post!
o yes o yes i so get this.
sighs.
insightful words...
keep your muses coming.
This is a beautiful piece of writing, Susannah.
'...but your words
contain your soul.'
Lovely!
Good One.
The whole thing is great. But this is my favorite -
"Though you are a stranger,
I feel your every move."
Word containing the soul - you know by the comments how much this resonates. It is indeed, why so many of us write. Our souls scream to be heard. Very much enjoyed this visit.
yes, you do that to me
Thank you all so much for your comments, they are very much appreciated.
And to those of you I haven't 'met' before. Welcome, it is very nice to make your aquaintance. :-)
And isn't that the beauty of Blogland at its best? Thought tranference made easy... :)
Wonderful thought provoking poem. We get to know these strangers heart and souls without even meeting. That is phenomenal when I think about it. I love the form of this poem and will try one like it. So easy to read.
I quite enjoyed this.

I have wondered why we respond to certain people on the internet...and there you have it, the soul can be seen in the words.
