Exposed. . .

I pace the perimeter.

With measured steps
my stride is fast, my gait even.

I do not falter.

Even when you throw lines
laced with your charm.

Designed to trip me.

To halt my progress,
force me back to the centre.

So you can see my eyes.

In this glass house,
I long for walls.

Written for this prompt.

To long for walls in a glassy house, makes me think one longs for the spaces out of it.

Thanks for a beautiful poem. <3

Susannah you have such an amazing way with words. I in a million years would not have been able to write something like this. Its elegant and visual. The double meanings I find in nearly each verse make this seem like a meal with a perfect dessert. Thank you for sharing what you write.
