Is a tree any less beautiful in autumn,
when the springtime blossom has passed.
The fruits of summer, now gathered,
the harvest, long since passed.
Or is that when the richness of colour,
that is lit by the afternoon sun,
makes the leaves, all shimmer like firelight.
With a beauty, that’s second to none.

Oh this is glorious! I love the rhyming and the rhythm, and the images you conjure with the afternoon sun making the leaves "shimmer like firelight" - one can almost see the leaf-flames flickering. Wonderful!
lovely flow..
No, a tree is not any less beautiful in autumn. A delightful poem that warms my heart.

Beauty in all seasons - yes.
A wonderful tribute to autumn, beautifully written.
A tree is a thing of beauty on any given day - even dead - but particularly in Autumn.
Wow, lyrical and sweet, to visualize and read! Lovely~
Beautiful and lovely words :3
Thanks everyone for reading and for your comments, they are much appreciated. :-)
I find it hard to choose between, say, Japanese flowering cherries in spring, and maple in fall; luckily I don't have to...
Love your poem, beautifully phrased.
