The orange day slips back into the purple night
and all is as it was before
but not me
The passing of the hours, the changing hues
have altered something
I have changed
Though all appears to be the same
when viewed from the surface
It is not
.

I like this, Susannah.
The incremental changes go unnoticed but they add up over time until the transformation is evident in us.
Very nice. :-)
What an interesting view of a day's passing and what it can mean. I love the opening line.
Lovely. Beautiful colors of day turning into evening.......I love "I have changed" and how what appears to look the same, is not.
I like how visually you started your poem, and alternating between the seen and the unseen.

Thanks every one for stopping by and reading, it is good to see you. x
Susannah, really like the opening of your poem, I have a thing about sunsets. But also like how you relate that to time passing slowly and the changes we all experience in the flow of moments from one to another. There is a gentleness here that more than matches the subject. A quiet calmness descending like the sun. Really very beautiful,
Elizabeth
Two delightful poems, seemingly linked. I loved both of them.
Elizabeth and Viv, so good to see you both here. x
Thank you very much for your comments, much appreciated. :-)
Agreed. The only constant thing in life is change.
An interesting and thought provoking view the transformation you can make in a day.
