I shake my life out onto a thin tray
and lift the edges and tap gently
so that the contents disperse
into a nice neat layer of me
there among the ingredients
I see things I have forgotten
things that must have slipped
right to the bottom of the mix
it really does pay occasionally
to empty your life out like that
so you can see all of the pieces
you'd been so sure were missing

Nice post. I like the idea of shaking it all out on a tray.
This is an excellent piece. The imagery really lingers...and teaches about this moment. Glad I checked in.
That is a really sweet and reflective poem.
What a neat concept. If I dumped mine out on a tray, it would be big bulging lumps, like playdough, hee hee!
Sue,
I wish I could do it as well :)
@SBS: LOL
Wonderful analogy. I would hope that my tray would have a net on the bottom and water flowing, so I could find all of the nuggests, no matter how small. Prospects too numurous to mention.
